The SAT examination is a pencil paper based exam. The questions in this exam are of multiple choice type. There are no specified eligibility criteria to take the SAT exam. Students of any class can take the test and they can take it as many times as they want to. Although, the average age of students taking the test is 17-18 years, there is no age limit set by the examination board to take the exam. The paper of the SAT exam is divided into 3 major sections. Among these, two are compulsory sections and one is optional. The fee to be paid to take the test also depends on whether the student chooses to include or exclude the Essay section. The fee to take the test excluding the Essay section is $46 and the fee to take the test including the Essay section is $60. So, to include the Essay section a student has to pay $14 more.
